When I am stressed I take a moment to slow down and breathe deeply. I focus on deep breaths when stressed. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4. This calms my mind quickly.

Among others, one of the important things that I do is allot time for 30 minutes of a workout a few times weekly. Walking or yoga helps me reduce tension.

Prioritize Sleep
A consistent waketime routine helps me to have 7-9 hours of sleep regularly. A consistent bedtime routine, like reading, helps me relax.

One reason to compose tasks this way is to enable me to gain a sense of control and thus achieve satisfaction. Thus, devising smaller parts of a task and creating a plan for getting them done is a sure way to gain control and fill the cup of satisfaction.

For example, I talk to my friends and family in hard times to help me get rid of stressors. Sharing my feelings often lightens my stress. These simple strategies help me to learn How to manage stress.
